Gaming Development Teacher

You will teach middle school students (grades 6–8) to design and build mobile games in Unity and C#. A curriculum will be provided for you, you will be expected to come up with some daily lessons and mini-games to teach concepts provided in the curriuclum.

What You'll Do

Teach in-person, in-school Unity and C# game development classes to middle schoolers with little to no prior coding experience.

Design fun activities to break down complex subjects (ex: human obstacle course to teach Vectors)

Guide students through building and deploying playable games

Differentiate instruction so both fast finishers and struggling students stay engaged and supported.

Manage a hands-on classroom of adolescents, setting expectations and keeping students on-task.

Track and report student progress, including direct grade entry.

Collaborate with staff and the partner school on scheduling, logistics, and program goals.

Who You Are

Proficient in Unity and C#, with experience building and deploying mobile games.

Able to explain technical concepts to 11–14 year-olds without losing them, and patient when a student is stuck or frustrated.

Experienced teaching, tutoring, coaching, or mentoring youth (formal classroom experience is a plus but not required).

Skilled at classroom management in a hands-on, screens-in-the-room environment.

Organized and self-directed enough to build curriculum from the ground up.

Comfortable working on-site and clearing a background check to work with minors.

Nice to Have

Prior game titles shipped, personal or professional.

Experience with the Unity animation

Familiarity with project-based or backward-design curriculum approaches.
