Director of Home Care Growth & Operations – San Diego, CA
A respected healthcare services group is seeking a dynamic, growth-oriented leader to manage and expand their home care organization in San Diego. Benefits & Compensation
- Competitive Base Salary: $85,000 – $90,000, commensurate with experience.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Drive Business Development: Act as the primary face of the organization across San Diego County; build and nurture strong referral pipelines with hospital discharge planners, county caseworkers, and community organizations.
- Accelerate Census Growth: Lead community outreach initiatives, conduct intake consultations with potential clients/families, and streamline the onboarding process for new admissions.
- Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with company leadership to design, execute, and report on targeted marketing campaigns and strategic growth initiatives.
- Oversee Office Operations: Manage a lean team focused on efficient scheduling, caregiver onboarding, and maintaining high client satisfaction.
- Culture & Leadership: Foster a vibrant, solutions-oriented culture that motivates office staff and field caregivers alike to deliver exceptional care.
- Operational Quality Control: Ensure general alignment with California home care standards and accurate billing/visit verification records through an optimized team workflow.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven Business Development Track Record: 2–3 years of experience in healthcare sales, business development, or operations within California home care or skilled home health environments.
- Relationship Builder: Demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining referral relationships with medical professionals, case managers, or community stakeholders.
- Growth Mindset: High energy and a proactive approach to identifying market opportunities and converting leads into active clients.
- Operational Familiarity: Experience managing or assisting with office operations, including personnel onboarding and scheduling coordination.
- Mobility: Valid driver’s license and the willingness to travel frequently throughout San Diego County for B2B marketing and community events.
- Regulatory Awareness: General familiarity with California home care operations (CDSS regulations, EVV systems) to oversee the administrative team effectively.
- Versatility: Willingness to maintain active California Home Care Aide (HCA) registration and support the team operationally when emergency coverage situations arise.
Preferred Background & Skills
- Strong background in private-pay client acquisition or expanding Medi-Cal programs.
- Prior experience initiating Medi-Cal client applications and setting up home health pipelines.
- Familiarity with industry software tools such as eCaring, Gusto Payroll, and QuickBooks.
- Former experience climbing the ranks from field coordinator/caregiver to a management role is a strong plus.
