QSR Restaurant Department Manager | General Manager Development Opportunity

Location: Brooklyn / Queens, New York

Compensation: $42K to $62K Base+ Bonus + Benefits

About the Opportunity

We’re partnering with an established, high-performing McDonald’s franchise organization that believes strongly in developing its people and promoting from within. They are looking for an experienced McDonald’s manager who has demonstrated strong operational and people leadership and is ready to begin developing toward becoming a future General Manager.

This is more than another Department Manager position. It’s an opportunity to join an organization that is specifically looking to identify, train, and develop its next generation of General Managers.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of a key department within a high-volume McDonald’s restaurant while continuing to expand your knowledge of total restaurant operations.

Working closely with the General Manager and senior leadership, you’ll gain increased exposure to the operational, financial, and people-management responsibilities necessary to successfully lead your own restaurant.

What You’ll Do

• Take ownership of an assigned department and drive its performance
• Lead daily operations while maintaining McDonald’s standards for quality, service, cleanliness, and value
• Monitor and improve key performance metrics including speed of service, drive-thru performance, ticket times, guest satisfaction, and order accuracy
• Lead, coach, train, and develop Shift Managers and crew
• Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, deployment, and staffing
• Manage and improve labor, food cost, waste, inventory, and controllable expenses
• Support digital and third-party delivery operations
• Maintain food safety, cleanliness, compliance, and audit readiness
• Learn and develop greater responsibility for restaurant financial performance
• Continue developing toward advancement into a General Manager position

What We’re Looking For

• Current or recent McDonald’s management experience required
• Department Manager experience strongly preferred
• Experience working in a high-volume McDonald’s restaurant
• Strong understanding of McDonald’s operational standards and performance metrics
• Experience managing speed of service and drive-thru performance
• Knowledge of labor, food cost/COGS, inventory, waste, and scheduling
• Experience with digital and third-party delivery business
• Proven ability to coach and develop Shift Managers and crew
• Hands-on leadership style with strong accountability and communication skills
• A genuine desire to take the next step and develop into a General Manager
