Assistant General Manager, Chef Driven Restaurant

A dynamic and expanding restaurant group, known for its chef-driven approach, is looking for a dedicated and polished Assistant General Manager to support daily operations and help drive continued success. This role works closely with the General Manager and leadership team to oversee front-of-house execution, develop and coach the team, ensure an exceptional guest experience, and maintain high operational standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience in upscale-casual, full-service hospitality and a genuine commitment to thoughtful, high-quality service.

Assistant General Manager, Chef Driven Restaurant Responsibilities:

• Partner with the General Manager to lead, coach, and develop the restaurant team while maintaining high standards for service, hospitality, and professionalism
• Take an active leadership role during daily service, coordinating FOH service, beverage, and event teams to ensure smooth execution, proper pacing, and operational consistency
• Support scheduling, staffing, training, inventory, compliance, events, and other day-to-day operational functions
• Drive an exceptional guest experience by maintaining a visible presence on the floor, engaging with guests, and resolving concerns proactively
• Assist with labor management, cost control, sales initiatives, and other financial objectives to support overall restaurant performance
• Support special events, marketing initiatives through social media, and community engagement efforts that strengthen the restaurant's reputation and guest base

Assistant General Manager, Chef Driven Restaurant Qualifications:

• Proven restaurant management experience, preferably within an upscale-casual, full-service, chef-driven environment
• Strong hands-on leadership and team-building skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and hold staff accountable
• Understanding of restaurant financial fundamentals, including labor management, cost control, inventory, and sales performance
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities with a polished and professional presence
• Strong knowledge of hospitality standards, guest relations, beverage (wine), restaurant technology, and daily operational procedures
• Genuine passion for chef-driven cuisine, thoughtful hospitality, and creating a memorable guest experience
