Sous Chef Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of salaried management experience in a high-volume, upscale scratch kitchen
- Strong passion for culinary excellence, guest service, and local sourcing
- Experience leading, training, and developing kitchen teams
- Understanding of kitchen systems, safety, and best practices
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Self-driven, collaborative, and committed to continuous learning
Sous Chef Preferred Background & Skills
- Interest in supporting local farms and seasonal ingredients
- Wine knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for hospitality
- Leadership style that inspires positivity, accountability, and teamwork
Sous Chef Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Chef in leading, mentoring, and motivating kitchen staff
- Ensure high standards in food quality, safety, and sanitation procedures
- Conduct line checks and maintain compliance with best practices
- Manage daily kitchen operations and inventory to ensure profitability
- Create an engaging, supportive, and high-integrity kitchen culture
- Play an active role in menu execution, innovation, and guest experience
